Jagadguru Swami Sathyananda Saraswati -Mahasamaadhi


Thiruvananthapuram: The guiding light of the Hindu's worldover, Jagadguru Swami Sathyananda Saraswati's Mahasamaadhi rituals were performed in the Jyotikhshetram near the ashram at 3 pm on 25.11.06 amidst akhanda nama japam by the thousands of devotees.Swamiji was taken to the jyotikhshetram from the ashram accompanied by panchavadyam. Lalitha sahasranamam and Vishnu sahasranamam were recited for forty one days.

The 41st day of the Mahasamadhi of Sathyananda Saraswathi Swamiji was celebrated with a historical Yati Pooja,an elaborate religious ceremony involving the Pooja of over 121 Sanyasi's. An event of such magnitude involving the Acharya's from the various paths of Sanyasa happened for the first time in Kerala.
